My First Mavala: Electric Green

Mavala is a brand I've heard of and seen in stores; I had just never bought from it before. On a trip to Bluewater (yes, it's those fateful words again), I accompanied my sister to John Lewis. While she was making an enquiry at one of the cosmetics counters, I innocently wandered over to the nail polish section. I saw two ladies pouring over one of the sections and lo and behold, it was Mavala.

Petrol In Water Setting My Fingertips Alight...

With colour! As promised earlier, here are some swatches of the delightful Andrea Fulerton Nail Boutique Trio in the shade Petrol in Water. Now this is the shade I originally stumbled across on a blog, and went on the hunt for in Superdrug stores near and far. Eventually I ordered online when it finally came back into stock.

Eliza by Andrea Fulerton Nail Boutique

This is a brand created by celebrity nail technician Andrea Fulerton and is sold exclusively at Superdrug. I came across it quite randomly when I stumbled upon a blog post about the famous Andrea Fulerton Nail Boutique Trio Petrol in the Water. That in itself is an amazing colour which I'll blog about at a later date. This is the first single colour I've bought from the range and I have to say I'm impressed.

A Midnight Star with a Shot of Silver

It seems to be all my recent posts are Orly ones! Yes I'm a fan, but it's more that being in a rush quite a lot recently, they dry the fastest out of my collection. This is a delightful colour called Midnight Star. It's a shimmery purple that looks as good in the bottle as it does on my nails.

NOTD: Rocking Metallic Stripes

A brief first look at some nail wraps from the experts Nail Rock. They come in a variety of designs and are definitely lively!

Orly Petit Four

This is the first time I'm trying this particular polish. As I've said previously, I was hooked on Orly after trying it just once. This is a fairly matte pink. I'd describe it as 'tea pink' (for those who know what pink tea looks like), or perhaps as a dusty pink. I usually like to have a bit of a shimmer in my polish, so for me to wear colours like this is fairly rare. I wasn't quite convinced when I received this in my last order, but I really liked the other two colours in the trio set BrandAlley were selling (Orly Buried Treasure and Orly Platinum).

Finding Buried Treasure

Most of the nail polishes I own are by Nails Inc but I also own quite a few Rimmel ones which I love, plus a few other brands. I had heard numerous positive comments about other brands such as OPI, Zoya and Orly, but until this year had yet to try any of them. However, the sales on BrandAlley UK changed that fairly rapidly - so thank you BrandAlley! On a whim, I bought two Orly duos in one of their sales. The second time I re-pucharsed from them when Orly re-appeared on the site, but this time without hesitation.

My First Post With Green Nails

What better way to start than with a beautiful green polish? My current favourite green is Boots 17 Magnetized Nail Polish in Green. This is one of four colours offered by 17 in the Magnetized range; the others are grey, blue and purple.

Welcome To My Blog

My first post and I can't think how to start!

I'll start with why I decided to start blogging. There are lots of great beauty blogs out there, and I don't aim to replace any of them! I've started this blog quite simply because I'd love to share my view, and I love sharing photos of the wonderful colours and combinations of nail polish colours that I come across. I have an Asian skin-tone, and I do wear most colours on my eyes or on my nails. Like most women though, I've purchased things and then wondered what possessed me to buy them. Either because the shade isn't suitable, or the product is one I wouldn't usually use, or I got seduced into buying it. OK, let me be honest, it's mostly because I got seduced into buying (and still do)!

I'm looking for forward to the adventure known as blogging, and I hope you enjoy reading..!
