Polish Us Pink: Jelly Bean

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. To mark this and to increase awareness in a different way, a group of us are blogging 'Polish Us Pink' on Mondays in October.

So many lives are changed by breast cancer, directly and indirectly, and it's important to check your breasts regularly. Let me be honest here, I never thought I'd write that in a blog post!! However, being aware and checking means earlier detection of problems and hopefully a better chance of survival.

For the first week of BCA month I opted for Ciate Jelly Bean. This was a limited edition colour that was free with a magazine purchase earlier this year. When I applied it, I thought that this was the perfect colour to kick start BCA month. Formula was wonderful, and as my first Ciate I can say I was definitely impressed with it.

I love the little bows on the Ciate bottles.

As you can see, there is a very slight purple sheen to Jelly Bean which enhances the beauty of this colour in my opinion. This polish was semi-opaque, so although I used 2 normal coats, there's still a slight VNL.

It's very daunting if you think you might be affected by breast cancer. Fortunately there are a number of organisations which offer advice and support for sufferers and their families. Please do check out the following websites:

Breast Cancer Campaign
Breast Cancer Care
Cancer Research UK
Macmillan Cancer Research

There are also a number of ways to help fundraise for these organisations, and each have the relevant information on their websites. Even though you might not be directly affected, please take a moment to consider donating to one of these charities .

Make sure to check out the other bloggers worldwide participating in Polish Us Pink!

  4. What a lovely blue based colour. Looks great against your skin. I've never tried this brand. The whole fish egg manicure thing kind of out me off them but free with a magazine, well you can't argue with that:)

    1. Thanks Kate :) I feel the same, so I've never bought one of their polishes, but I can't say no to freebies I'm afraid :o I wonder what their reaction has been to MUA's 'Nail Constellations'...

    1. It was limited edition with a magazine Bridget, that's probably why!! However, I do recall reading the colour itself is a 'normal' Ciate colour which has been renamed, but I can't spot which from their website :/ The BCA posts have all been pretty awesome!!
