A Little Chilli & Spice

How's everyone doing today? Well I hope! I've been having an extremely stressful time at work recently, and it has worn me out. To top it off, a motorbike decided to get up close to the back of my car, and my back is still suffering the after effects :( On a happier note, today I have a collection for you. You read right, an entire collection! I've been a fan of Mavala since I first tried the little bottles of goodness. When the Chilli & Spice collection was announced alongside promotional photos I knew I just had to have them. Thanks to Feelunique, I caved to the peer pressure in my mind, and bought all 6.

On sight, you can see that these are definitely summer colours. I swatched these in the garden while we had some rare sunshine :) They're alluring and bright and beautiful. I feel kind of sad that because the sun started going in, I could only swatch Bamako on my right hand, while wearing Jaipur on my left, hence the awkward hand pose/without bottle hand pose! All swatches are 2 or 3 coats, with no top coat.

Cuzco
Cuzco is a bright red colour, and anyone who knows me, knows how I feel about red, but I actually liked this. I really liked the formula which felt smooth and applied well, but it majorly stained, so keep it away from your cuticles!

Bali
This is a bubblegum pink, and for me was perfection! I had to share a sneak peek of this on twitter while swatching, because I just fell for it, and the reaction - like mine - was only positive :)

Trinidad
Trinidad is a simply beautiful blue. There's not much else I can say about it to be honest. That's not a bad thing, it means that it's just right.

Samarkand
Hello Beautiful! What a gorgeous purple, like summer, happiness and all good things rolled into one! If you buy one polish from this collection, it has got to be Samarkand!

Jaipur
I've developed a thing for orange nail polish recently. I haven't been buying too much, but I just keep wanting to wear it. Maybe it's because I think of it as a fun summer colour. This is definitely one of my new favourites.

Bamako
This colour I like, I love it actually. I just didn't like the formula of this particular one though, Maybe it was me, maybe I got a dodgy bottle, but I just didn't love it because of the formula.

When trying to control my buying urge, I initially set out to buy Bamako, Samarkand and Trinidad. I'm glad I bought the whole collection though, as it took me out of my comfort zone, and the ones I really like after swatching them are Bali, Samarkand & Jaipur - what a turnaround!

Mavala is available from Feelunique, BeautyBay & John Lewis.

What do you think of these? Have you tried any Mavala yet?
